 Emergency Response Team

ADPS has a special weapons and tactics team called the Emergency Response Team (ERT). This team is utilized for high risk search warrant execution, barricaded gunmen, active shooters and other high risk situations as needed.  The ADPS ERT team is a multi-jurisdictional team between the City of Albion, City of Marshall and the Village of Homer.  The ADPS ERT team also works with various other departments in Jackson County & Calhoun County as well as Federal agencies such as the DEA and ATF in undercover operations. 

The ADPS ERT team is a highly trained unit of ADPS officers that are trained in covert surveillance, covert-counter surveillance, hostage/barricaded negotiations, explosive breaching, tactical marksman, clandestine drug laboratories and much more.  The ADPS ERT team conducts numerous narcotics investigations and executes numerous search warrants each year.  The ERT team is also a member of the National Tactical Officer's Association, Michigan Tactical Officer's Association, and the Michigan Association of Hostage Negotiators.
